Mexico City

[ OVERVIEW ]

Mexico City was one of the most surprising destinations Felix has discovered in recent years.

What began as a visit quickly became a fascination. Over multiple trips, he found himself drawn deeper into the culture, the food, and the energy of the city. With each return, he formed friendships with chefs, guides, and artisans who helped reveal the city from the inside. This journey grew from that experience and from the excitement of sharing a place that continues to inspire us.

For many of us, travel often begins in Europe. Mexico City invites us to step beyond that comfort zone and experience a culture that has shaped the world in ways that are sometimes overlooked. Spain often speaks of itself as the motherland, yet so many ingredients, techniques, and traditions that define Spanish cuisine today trace their roots to Mexico. Exploring that connection firsthand offers a new perspective on the food cultures we love.

Mexico City is one of the most dynamic culinary capitals anywhere in the world. Here, street vendors, traditional family kitchens, ambitious young chefs, and internationally recognized restaurants all share the same vibrant stage. The diversity is remarkable. One moment you might be tasting tacos prepared from recipes passed down for generations. The next, you are seated in a restaurant that is helping define the future of Latin American cuisine.

Our days together will explore the city from many angles. We will walk through historic neighborhoods and learn about the cultural foundations of the capital. We will visit the canals of Xochimilco, discover bustling markets, and step into kitchens to learn traditional techniques such as making tortillas by hand. There will be moments of celebration and fun as well, including an evening experiencing the spectacle and excitement of lucha libre.

For those curious about the future of global cuisine, there may be no better place to explore than Mexico City today. It is a city full of history, creativity, and bold energy, and we are excited to share it with you through the friendships and experiences that have made it so meaningful to us.
